It is similar to Spanish, but obviously, it is not.

Thanks.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16124507532424399580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3861875.post-3775871848462780302013-09-19T20:51:43.407-04:002013-09-19T20:51:43.407-04:00The Taurus is not Spanish, it is Brazilian. Cheap Spanish is mostly referring to guns made in the 1900-1960 period, made in Spain.Hobiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13393344788210904114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3861875.post-1117507479763209052013-09-12T22:40:40.071-04:002013-09-12T22:40:40.071-04:00By "a cheap Spanish S&W knock-off of dubi...By "a cheap Spanish S&W knock-off of dubious quality", do you mean Taurus by chance?
The reason I ask is I just picked up a Taurus 83, made in 1991, that is actually a very nice revolver. It is almost identical to the S&W M15, but with the heavy barrel of the modern M10.
It seems to be well made and shoots very well and accurately. I like this pistol a lot.
I have long believed, based on the same criteria that you cite, that modern 38spl and +P ammo is pretty weak compared to ammo of yesteryear.

Thanks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3861875.post-646813585355423472013-09-12T22:39:56.965-04:002013-09-12T22:39:56.965-04:00By "a cheap Spanish S&W knock-off of dubi...By "a cheap Spanish S&W knock-off of dubious quality", do you mean Taurus by chance?
The reason I ask is I just picked up a Taurus 83, made in 1991, that is actually a very nice revolver. I have been reloading since 1967 and the loads for Bullseye and Unique were far hotter then than todayAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3861875.post-69165451995614709042013-09-07T22:53:45.954-04:002013-09-07T22:53:45.954-04:00Buffalo Bore ammo is a lot hotter than factory .38...Buffalo Bore ammo is a lot hotter than factory .38 +P, yet safe for all modern .38 revolvers in normal working condition.
Their Outdoorsman load is the equivalent of the .38/44.
I remember the 750 fps Winchester 125 grain Silvertip +P ammo. What a joke.

I fear no +P. I'm on THR and the S&W forum and have read many of your posts on the subject.
I agree completely.
Factory +P is a joke. A really weak joke.
If +P was so hot, Tim Sundles would not risk the legal/financial liability of selling it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
